Goals

  • Participants will understand historical, legal, and cultural contexts of ethical decision-making relevant to conducting research with persons with mental illnesses
  • Participants will identify and understand important ethical concepts in conducting research and be capable of appropriately applying the concepts to their research
  • Participants will learn strategies for addressing and minimizing ehtical conflicts in conducting research
  • Participants will understand the importance and function of the IRB process and gain experience carrying out IRB reviews
