" The de la Parte Institute Research Library Receives National Network of Libraries of Medicine Southeastern/Atlantic Region Electronic Document Delivery Award"
The Louis de la Parte Florida Mental Health Institute Research Library is the recipient of a National Network of Libraries of Medicine Southeastern/Atlantic Region Electronic Document Delivery Award. One of twenty awards from this program initiative, this funding is to support the implementation of internet and/or web electronic document delivery service or improvement of existing electronic document delivery services. The award supports the purchase of software for internet or web-based transmission of documents, scanners, or document imaging equipment.
Patricia Pettijohn, Assistant University Librarian, and Rick Jones, IT Director, collaborated on the application for the award. Mr. Jones will ensure that the software and hardware is functional for interlibrary lending and borrowing and, with Ms. Pettijohn, coordinate the implementation of this new service. Ms. Pettijohn will handle the data collection and conduct an evaluation on library user satisfaction with electronic document delivery to meet the evaluative component of the award.
The award will enhance the Institute Library's capacity to provide interlibrary loan services with the other NLM Southeastern/Atlantic region libraries. For more information on the Institute's electronic document delivery services, contact Ms. Pettijohn at 813.974.8400 or email her at Ppettijohn@fmhi.usf.edu.
