Testing for Mania

Impaired judgement is as much a part of mania as it is of depression. It is usually more obvious to friends and family. The following scale is designed to help you determine the severity of manic symptoms and decide whether you should get professional help. It was developed by Dr. Ivan Goldberg, and it is known as the Goldberg Mania Scale. The items below refer to how you have felt and behaved during the past week. For each item, select the appropriate number.

3 =  Moderately
4 =  Quite a lot
